A peace meeting convened to address the internal crisis rocking the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party could not achieve its intended aim as one of the leaders of the party in the state and a former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, shunned the meeting, reports Punch .
The meeting, which was convened by the party’s former National Vice Chairman South-West, Olabode Gorge, was to among other things resolve the differences among the governorship aspirants and seek the possibility of a consensus ahead of the party’s
primaries.
Obanikoro, who is aspiring to be governor of Lagos under the party’s platform is rumoured to be at loggerheads with George, who is supporting another gubernatorial
aspirant, Jimi Agbaje.
Aside Obanikoro, another aspirant, Adedeji Doherty, was also absent from the meeting which lasted for about four hours.
Aspirants present at the meeting were: Agbaje, Babatunde Gbadamosi, Adegbola Dominic, Tokunbo Kamson and Ms. Modupe Chukwuneke.
